Ecovillage Movement

An ecovillage is defined as a community where people are able to know each other and each member is able to participate in governance and influence the community’s direction; that supports the healthy human development of its members; that plans for and provides food provision, manufacturing, commercial, and recreational opportunities; that operates with an ecological restoration ethic, preserving and enhancing ecosystems and minimizing environmental impacts, and that can be successfully continued into the future, being economically, ecologically and socially sustainable.
